Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2–3 bananas)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar.
- Beat in eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with sour cream, mixing until combined.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely before glazing.
- For glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread glaze over cooled bars, allow to set, then slice and serve.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Add chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for variation.
- Do not overbake to keep brownies soft and moist.
