Description

Banana Bread Brownies are a delicious fusion of rich, moist banana bread and fudgy brownies. This dessert offers the best of both worlds, with the sweetness of ripe bananas and the decadence of a brownie texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
  • 1/4 cup milk (or non-dairy milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. If you’re using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter at this stage.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, slice into squares and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
  11. Enjoy your delicious Banana Bread Brownies!

Notes

  • If you prefer a sweeter treat, you can increase the sugar by 1/4 cup.
  • You can also add chopped walnuts or pecans for a bit of crunch and extra flavor.
  • If you don’t have ripe bananas, you can use frozen bananas that have been thawed and mashed.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil or another plant-based oil and use non-dairy milk.
