Description
Banana Bread Brownies are a delicious fusion of rich, moist banana bread and fudgy brownies. This dessert offers the best of both worlds, with the sweetness of ripe bananas and the decadence of a brownie texture.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
- 1/4 cup milk (or non-dairy milk)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, and cinnamon (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If you’re using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter at this stage.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice into squares and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Enjoy your delicious Banana Bread Brownies!
Notes
- If you prefer a sweeter treat, you can increase the sugar by 1/4 cup.
- You can also add chopped walnuts or pecans for a bit of crunch and extra flavor.
- If you don’t have ripe bananas, you can use frozen bananas that have been thawed and mashed.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil or another plant-based oil and use non-dairy milk.
