Description
Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta combines crispy shrimp with a creamy, spicy sauce, served over pasta for a delicious and satisfying meal. It’s a perfect balance of creamy, spicy, and savory flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 8 ounces pasta (linguine, spaghetti, or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice until smooth. Set the sauce aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp is pink and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Pour the prepared Bang Bang sauce into the skillet with the garlic. Stir to combine and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together until the shrimp is coated with the sauce and pasta is evenly mixed.
- Serve the pasta in bowls, garnished with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro, if desired.
- Enjoy your creamy, spicy Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta!
Notes
- For extra heat, add more sriracha to the sauce or sprinkle some red pepper flakes on top.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for the sauce.
- Feel free to add vegetables such as bell peppers or spinach for added flavor and nutrition.
- If you don’t like shrimp, this recipe also works with chicken or tofu.
