Description
Cheesy skillet meatballs are juicy, well-seasoned meatballs cooked in a savory tomato sauce and topped with melted cheese, all prepared in one skillet for an easy and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently until combined.
- Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add meatballs to the skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides.
- Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs and reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes, until meatballs are fully cooked.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the meatballs.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a cast-iron skillet for best heat distribution.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
- Ground turkey can be substituted for beef if desired.
