Description

A rich and creamy copycat of Chick-fil-A mac and cheese made with a blend of cheddar, Parmesan, and Romano cheeses, baked until golden and bubbly.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded American cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Romano cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in milk and heavy cream, cooking until smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in American cheese until melted.
  5. Add cheddar, Parmesan, Romano, salt, and pepper, stirring until smooth.
  6. Fold in cooked macaroni until fully coated.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until lightly golden on top.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for best texture.
  • Do not overbake to keep the mac and cheese creamy.
