Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp with Rice is a rich and comforting dish featuring tender shrimp cooked in a creamy garlic butter sauce, served over fluffy rice for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 500 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 240 ml heavy cream
- 120 ml chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 cups cooked white rice
Instructions
- Season shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in lemon juice and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until coated and heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- You can substitute cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a side salad.
