Description
A creamy and flavorful shrimp pasta made with tender shrimp, garlic, and a rich Parmesan cream sauce tossed with perfectly cooked pasta. An easy and elegant dinner ready in minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
- Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and red pepper flakes; simmer until slightly thickened.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- Return shrimp to skillet and toss with sauce.
- Add cooked pasta and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
- Finish with parsley and lemon juice. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor.
- Substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 2 days.
