Description

A rich and comforting creamy potato bake made with tender sliced potatoes layered in a velvety garlic cream sauce and topped with golden melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 800g potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add heavy cream, milk, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir and heat gently (do not boil).
  4. Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle some cheddar cheese.
  6. Add remaining potatoes, pour the rest of the cream mixture, and top with remaining cheddar and parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
