Description
Crispy Corn Cheese Bites are golden, crunchy appetizers made with sweet corn and gooey cheese, lightly seasoned and fried or baked to perfection for a crowd-pleasing snack.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sweet corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, lightly mash the corn kernels.
- Add cheese, flour, cornstarch, egg, milk, green onions, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix until a thick batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Scoop small portions of the mixture and carefully drop into hot oil.
- Fry for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
- Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy version.
- Best served immediately for maximum crispiness.
