Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2–3 fresh jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over half of the pastry sheet.
- Fold the other half over the filling and gently press to seal.
- Cut into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush twists with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by keeping or removing jalapeño seeds.
- Best served warm for maximum crispness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
