Description
Dumpling Lasagna is a comforting fusion dish that layers tender dumplings with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta mixture, and melted mozzarella cheese for a hearty baked dinner twist on classic lasagna.

- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Add a layer of dumplings evenly over the sauce.
- Spread some ricotta mixture over the dumplings, followed by meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Use vegetable dumplings and omit meat for a vegetarian version.
- Allowing the dish to rest before cutting helps it set properly.
