Description

A perfectly fluffy baked potato with a crisp skin on the outside and a light, tender interior, ideal as a side dish or customizable main.


Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them dry.
  3. Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
  4. Rub potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt.
  5. Place potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking tray.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, turning once, until skins are crisp and a knife slides easily into the center.
  7. Remove from oven, slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra fluffy interiors, avoid wrapping potatoes in foil.
  • Add butter, sour cream, cheese, or herbs as desired.
  • Russet potatoes work best for fluffiness.
