Description
A perfectly fluffy baked potato with a crisp skin on the outside and a light, tender interior, ideal as a side dish or customizable main.
Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them dry.
- Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt.
- Place potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking tray.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, turning once, until skins are crisp and a knife slides easily into the center.
- Remove from oven, slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra fluffy interiors, avoid wrapping potatoes in foil.
- Add butter, sour cream, cheese, or herbs as desired.
- Russet potatoes work best for fluffiness.
