Description

French Silk Brownies are rich, fudgy brownies topped with a smooth, creamy chocolate silk layer and finished with fluffy whipped cream and chocolate shavings for an indulgent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 200 g unsalted butter
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 90 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 120 g powdered sugar
  • 170 g semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 240 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for whipped cream)
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and whisk with granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
  6. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Add melted chocolate and beat until creamy and silky.
  8. Spread the chocolate silk layer evenly over cooled brownies.
  9. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread or pipe whipped cream over the chocolate layer.
  11. Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
