Description
French Silk Brownies are rich, fudgy brownies topped with a smooth, creamy chocolate silk layer and finished with fluffy whipped cream and chocolate shavings for an indulgent dessert.
Ingredients
- 200 g unsalted butter
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 100 g brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 90 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 125 g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 170 g semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
- 240 ml heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for whipped cream)
- Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and whisk with granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add melted chocolate and beat until creamy and silky.
- Spread the chocolate silk layer evenly over cooled brownies.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread or pipe whipped cream over the chocolate layer.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
