Description
Simple and flavorful sautéed green beans cooked until tender-crisp with garlic and light seasoning, perfect as a quick and healthy side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch green beans for 3–4 minutes until bright green.
- Drain and immediately transfer to cold water to stop cooking, then drain again.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add green beans, salt, and black pepper, tossing to coat.
- Cook for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Finish with lemon juice if using and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overcook to maintain crisp texture.
- Fresh green beans work best, but frozen can be used if thawed.
- Add almonds or Parmesan for variation.
