Description

Simple and flavorful sautéed green beans cooked until tender-crisp with garlic and light seasoning, perfect as a quick and healthy side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)


Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch green beans for 3–4 minutes until bright green.
  2. Drain and immediately transfer to cold water to stop cooking, then drain again.
  3. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add green beans, salt, and black pepper, tossing to coat.
  6. Cook for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. Finish with lemon juice if using and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overcook to maintain crisp texture.
  • Fresh green beans work best, but frozen can be used if thawed.
  • Add almonds or Parmesan for variation.
