Description

Ground Beef Totchos are crispy tater tots loaded with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic nacho toppings for a hearty and crowd-pleasing appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 450 g ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup salsa (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Spread tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions until crispy.
  3. While tots bake, cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
  5. Remove baked tater tots from oven and sprinkle seasoned beef evenly over top.
  6. Add shredded cheese over beef layer.
  7. Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Top with diced tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions, sour cream, and salsa.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve right away to keep tots crispy.
  • Add black beans or corn for extra toppings.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
