Description
Ground Beef Totchos are crispy tater tots loaded with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic nacho toppings for a hearty and crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 450 g ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Spread tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions until crispy.
- While tots bake, cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
- Remove baked tater tots from oven and sprinkle seasoned beef evenly over top.
- Add shredded cheese over beef layer.
- Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Top with diced tomatoes, jalapeños, green onions, sour cream, and salsa.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve right away to keep tots crispy.
- Add black beans or corn for extra toppings.
- Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
