Description
Crispy, golden ham and cheese sticks made with flaky pastry and melty cheese, perfect as an appetizer, snack, or party food.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 150 g sliced ham
- 150 g mozzarella or cheddar cheese, cut into sticks
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano or paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into long strips.
- Place a slice of ham and a cheese stick on each pastry strip.
- Roll the pastry tightly around the ham and cheese, sealing the edges.
- Mix the beaten egg with milk and brush over the pastry sticks.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds or spices if using.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve with mustard, ketchup, or a cheese dip.
- You can use turkey instead of ham if preferred.
- Best enjoyed warm while the cheese is melted.
