Description

A bold and flavorful keto-friendly dish featuring tender cabbage leaves stuffed with Cajun-spiced shrimp, smoky sausage, and cheese, baked to perfection for a satisfying low-carb meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head green cabbage
  • 225 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 200 g smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch cabbage leaves for 2–3 minutes until pliable; drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté sausage until lightly browned.
  4. Add onion, celery, and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  5. Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; cook until shrimp are just opaque.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling into each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, and place seam-side down in a baking dish.
  8. Top with remaining cheese.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to control heat level.
  • Use raw shrimp for best texture.
  • Leftovers reheat well and keep for up to 3 days refrigerated.
