A bold and flavorful keto-friendly dish featuring tender cabbage leaves stuffed with Cajun-spiced shrimp, smoky sausage, and cheese, baked to perfection for a satisfying low-carb meal.
Ingredients
- 1 large head green cabbage
- 225 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 200 g smoked sausage, sliced
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch cabbage leaves for 2–3 minutes until pliable; drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté sausage until lightly browned.
- Add onion, celery, and bell pepper; cook until softened.
- Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; cook until shrimp are just opaque.
- Remove from heat and stir in half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Place a spoonful of filling into each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, and place seam-side down in a baking dish.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to control heat level.
- Use raw shrimp for best texture.
- Leftovers reheat well and keep for up to 3 days refrigerated.
