Ingredients
- 1 large green cabbage, cut into 1-inch thick steaks
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Roast for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cabbage is tender and caramelized at the edges.
- While the cabbage roasts, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil if needed, then sauté the garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add red pepper flakes and chopped sun-dried tomatoes, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and heavy cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese, paprika, and dried thyme. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Place the roasted cabbage steaks on a serving platter and spoon the creamy Tuscan sauce generously over the top.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
