Description
Spicy Voodoo Shrimp is a bold Cajun-inspired dish featuring juicy shrimp sautéed in a buttery, garlicky, and spicy sauce with smoky seasonings and a touch of heat.
Ingredients
- 500 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice and hot sauce if using.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes to combine flavors.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or crusty bread.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- Adjust cayenne and hot sauce for desired heat level.
- Pairs well with creamy grits or garlic bread.
