Description

A buttery, flaky croissant sandwich filled with juicy steak, melted cheese, and a creamy sauce—perfect for a rich and satisfying viral-style lunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 large croissants, sliced in half
  • 250 g steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 slices cheddar or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • For Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic paste or minced garlic
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the steak with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat and cook the steak for 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  3. In the same pan, add butter and sauté sliced onions until soft and slightly caramelized.
  4. Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain.
  5. Lightly toast the croissants in the pan or oven until warm and slightly crisp.
  6. Mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic, and lemon juice to make the sauce.
  7. Assemble the sandwich: spread sauce on croissants, add steak slices, sautéed onions, and cheese.
  8. Optional: return assembled sandwich to pan briefly to melt cheese.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use ribeye for maximum tenderness and flavor.
  • Do not overcook the steak to keep it juicy.
  • Add arugula or lettuce for freshness.
  • You can swap cheese with Swiss or mozzarella.
  • Great served with fries or a light salad.
