A buttery, flaky croissant sandwich filled with juicy steak, melted cheese, and a creamy sauce—perfect for a rich and satisfying viral-style lunch.
Ingredients
- 2 large croissants, sliced in half
- 250 g steak (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 slices cheddar or provolone cheese
- 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- For Sauce:
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic paste or minced garlic
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat and cook the steak for 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
- In the same pan, add butter and sauté sliced onions until soft and slightly caramelized.
- Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain.
- Lightly toast the croissants in the pan or oven until warm and slightly crisp.
- Mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic, and lemon juice to make the sauce.
- Assemble the sandwich: spread sauce on croissants, add steak slices, sautéed onions, and cheese.
- Optional: return assembled sandwich to pan briefly to melt cheese.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
