Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled slightly
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, divided
  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant banana pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Extra vanilla wafer crumbs for garnish


Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Combine vanilla wafer crumbs and brown butter until evenly moistened.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form the crust.
  4. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Fold in 1 cup whipped topping and vanilla extract.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  8. In another bowl, whisk banana pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  9. Spread half of the pudding over the cream cheese layer.
  10. Arrange sliced bananas evenly over the pudding.
  11. Spread the remaining pudding on top.
  12. Top with the remaining whipped topping.
  13. Sprinkle with vanilla wafer crumbs and cinnamon if desired.
  14. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
