Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar (for strawberries)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with 2 tablespoons sugar and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles crumbs.
- Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead.
- Shape into rounds or use a biscuit cutter.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Slice biscuits in half and layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Top with the other biscuit half and extra strawberries if desired.
