Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with 2 tablespoons sugar and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles crumbs.
  5. Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until dough forms.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead.
  7. Shape into rounds or use a biscuit cutter.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  9. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Slice biscuits in half and layer with strawberries and whipped cream.
  11. Top with the other biscuit half and extra strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for flaky biscuits.
