- 1/2 cup celery, diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, 8 biscuits
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add butter and allow it to melt.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth until smooth.
- Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Add peas and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Arrange biscuits evenly on top of the beef mixture.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
- Frozen mixed vegetables can replace the peas, carrots, and celery.
- If your skillet is not oven-safe, transfer the filling to a baking dish before adding biscuits.
- For extra flavor, brush biscuits with garlic butter before baking.
- Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
