Description

Crispy bite-sized chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect as an appetizer or quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Set up a dredging station with flour and cornstarch in one bowl and beaten eggs in another.
  3. Dip chicken into egg, then coat in flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. In a saucepan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  8. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Double fry the chicken for extra crispiness.
  • Adjust sweetness by reducing or increasing honey.
  • Use chicken thighs for juicier bites.
  • Serve with rice or noodles for a full meal.
  • Best enjoyed fresh to maintain crisp texture.
