Description

Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding is a rich and indulgent dessert made with buttery croissants soaked in a creamy custard and baked with melty chocolate for a soft, decadent treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)
  • Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Place the torn croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the croissants.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and gently press them down to absorb the liquid.
  6. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the croissants to soak up the custard.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Day-old croissants work best because they absorb the custard better.
  • You can add chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a richer dessert.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
