Description
Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding is a rich and indulgent dessert made with buttery croissants soaked in a creamy custard and baked with melty chocolate for a soft, decadent treat.
Ingredients
- 4 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)
- Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Place the torn croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the croissants.
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and gently press them down to absorb the liquid.
- Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the croissants to soak up the custard.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Day-old croissants work best because they absorb the custard better.
- You can add chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a richer dessert.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
