A flavorful and elegant dish featuring tender sea bass fillets cooked with lemon and garlic, served alongside rich and creamy spinach for a balanced and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 sea bass fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 200 g fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Season the sea bass fillets with salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and add the fish fillets skin-side down.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until cooked through.
- Add minced garlic and lemon juice to the pan and spoon the sauce over the fish.
- Remove fish from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and add spinach, cooking until wilted.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir in Parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, cooking until slightly thickened.
- Serve the sea bass over the creamed spinach and drizzle with remaining lemon-garlic sauce.
Notes
- You can substitute sea bass with cod or tilapia.
- Do not overcook the fish to keep it tender and flaky.
- Fresh spinach works best, but frozen can be used if drained well.
- Add a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
