Description

Longhorn Parmesan Chicken is a restaurant-inspired dish featuring juicy grilled chicken breasts topped with a creamy Parmesan ranch spread, melted provolone cheese, and a crispy Parmesan crumb topping. Rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, this copycat recipe makes a perfect family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  3. Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Meanwhile, mix ranch dressing and half of the Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
  8. In another bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Italian seasoning, and remaining Parmesan cheese.
  9. Remove chicken from the oven and spread the Parmesan ranch mixture evenly over each piece.
  10. Top each chicken breast with a slice of provolone cheese.
  11. Sprinkle the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture over the cheese.
  12. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the topping is golden and crispy.
  13. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan provides the best flavor and texture.
  • Chicken thighs may be substituted, but cooking time will vary.
  • Use an oven-safe skillet to reduce cleanup.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 3 days.
